My Chelsea Garden…

I love the Chelsea Flower Show; it’s one of the gardening highlights of our year. The trip to London on Wednesday will require a ridiculously early start (I didn’t even know there was such a thing as five o’clock in the morning), then late home. But despite the anticipation, the build up and then the excitement of the stunning show gardens and the horticultural prowess of the marquee, I’m so pleased to get back home to our own Chelsea garden.

And today, like the designers and contractors at Chelsea, we too have been frenetically planting. No deadline for us, thank heavens, aside from trying to get done before dinner(!), but the left hand side of the garden in this picture, taken just now, has been completed. A shady and slightly moist part of the garden, perfect for Hostas, Ligularias, Heucheras, ferns and Alchemilla mollis, amongst other gems.

Look back later this week for our insight and views of Chelsea 2013, with picture of all the gardens and the marquee.
